doug.m.selland Posted November 15 Report Posted November 15 I guess it is windows I am needing help with. am totally new to drivers cloud. have an older laptop toshiba satellite t230d I did clean install of windows 11, but am having an issue with amd or ati or radeon . lousy display driver there are no updates and are discontinued. ive done the ddu before but then get stuck whatever dispay driver I try to uinstall is not valid for my machine , so says windows trying to install. Amd Radeon say go to windows for driver , windows basically says sorry no display drivers or media accellerators for you, go away. My biggest problem now is my age old problem finding drivers that I can actually install. Executable. Inf os msi , open powershell as admin to instal,l way to complicated for my non comprehension of anything to do with programming or code or 1's and 0's. I tried the tutorial on how to install the drivers, but my browser got taken hostage by non stop tabs opening and I do apologize Every tab that i was trying to close got me another dozen tabs and they were all in french. Again I apologize , am a chef , but I never learned french. Thank you for any advice that anyone might have to offer, as well as thank you for taking the time to read my lunacy. Cheers. doug.m.selland Quote
AZAMOS Posted November 15 Report Posted November 15 Hello, We're dealing here with a very old computer, equipped with Windows 7 and just 3 GB of RAM, and naturally incompatible with Windows 11 from the outset: I assume that you used a modified ISO to manage to install Win 11 on this computer. As for your problem of finding a compatible driver and getting Win 11 to accept it, you need to use a driver that isn't ‘signed’ by Microsoft (WHQL = signed; non-WHQL = unsigned). I'm going to give you the procedure here, WITHOUT ANY GUARANTEE that it will work, given that you're doing this on an old and normally incompatible computer, with an old graphics card. 1) Download the driver from this page: https://deviceinbox.com/drivers/1963-amd-radeon-software-adrenalin-22-2-3-beta-driver.html , and put it on your desktop. 2) As this is a non-WHQL driver installer, you'll need to force installation authorisation in Windows. To do this a) left-click in an empty area of your Desktop b) simultaneously press the ‘Windows’ key (it's just to the right of your ‘Ctrl’ key at the bottom-left corner of your keyboard) and the ‘R’ key. c) a small window will appear where you can paste the following line => bcdedit /set noino bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON ... and validate by clicking on the ‘OK’ button d) reboot your computer: now you can install your non-WHQL driver! I can't help you with the rest of the installation as I don't have a PC with this typical case to hand, but normally the driver installer should be intuitive to use. Quote

" 😱 Ouch, I guess you are infected with something, maybe not a very, very nasty virus, but probably an invasive adware that is more annoying than dangerous. Before going any further, I suggest you scan your computer using MalwareBytes Anti-Malwares, follow its instructions and erase anything bad it finds on your PC, then restart your PC. Before using MalwareBytes I invite you to create a restore point, in case something goes wrong you can easily go back... MalwareBytes : On this page, choose the free download for home users (That's enough, no need to buy software yet.), download and install the software : https://www.malwarebytes.com/ You will find here some tutorials to use MalwareBytes (MBAM) : https://www.malwarebytes.com/solutions/virus-scanner Important : How to create a restore point BEFORE using MBAM : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-a-system-restore-point-77e02e2a-3298-c869-9974-ef5658ea3be9#:~:text=In the search box on,in System Properties%2C select Create. If you need to restore your PC later, we will see at that time... Quote
